Oh my goodness you are one clever badger!! They are fanblumin-ramalama-dingdong-tastic! I didn’t imagine they would be so beautiful….I hate photos of me but even I’ve come out trumps on these! I contacted Yvonne having already fallen in love with her wedding photography on her website. She captures something really beautiful, intimate and, most of all, fun from the weddings she’s photographed. I wanted her for our wedding! I was over the moon when she said she was available. She was so incredibly friendly and we felt she really listened to what we wanted. I was quite nervous about being in the limelight all day and about ‘smiling properly’ etc! But it felt the most natural thing in the World on the day as Yvonne gives such clear direction and makes the whole experience feel so wonderfully effortless. We had Yvonne as our photographer for our wedding. We weren’t looking to spend as much as what was quoted, but after visiting her website and viewing the photos we decided to meet with her. We didn’t want the ‘normal’ bog standard wedding photos that you normally get with wedding photographers and her style was just what we were looking for. She came to our house with some sample albums and the first thing that struck us was how natural and fun they looked. It took us a while to convince ourselves that the money we were going to pay was going to be worthwhile and we are so glad we did. We spent many hours at wedding fayres meeting various photographers and generally felt pressured and somewhat bemused by the cold business like attitude of everyone we met, then we found Yvonne and from the moment we were invited to view her work we knew she would be the one we would choose, from the pre-wedding shoot to the wedding day itself and the constant contact in between, everything was perfect, we don’t think you will find another photographer that you will find yourself so at ease with.

We chose Yvonne Lishman Photography after searching through hundreds of photographers available in the East Midlands for our wedding in Lincolnshire in December 2010. I contacted Yvonne after seeing her galleries online, which showed that she tailor-makes the photography to suit the client. A lot of photographers I’d contacted had bog standard set photos, such as the bride adjusting her dad’s tie (I’d never do that!) etc, or simply an informal reportage style, which I didn’t want either as I don’t look good in photos taken with me unawares! I live in Italy so we arranged to meet next time I was in Leicester and she came over and showed us the albums and we did a pre-wedding photo shoot, to get us comfortable for posing with a professional. This was a massive help, I’m quite a poser but my husband is more reserved so it was good practice for the big day! Out of these photos, we chose one to be enlarged and mounted for guests at the wedding to sign, which was a lovely touch and a great keepsake! Leading up to the big day, Yvonne was very involved in the process finding out exactly what we wanted and making great suggestions. I really appreciated her input and it helped us to plan the day properly as we weren’t having a Master of Ceremonies or anything. As we love films and my husband is Italian, Yvonne came up with some great suggestions, inspired from our favourite films, such as the Godfather and Casino, they really worked out great! On the day, Yvonne arrived with an assistant a couple of hours before the ceremony to take photos of me getting ready and stayed right until after the first dance, not leaving until after 9pm. This was much more than a lot of other photographers offered. We had photos of me getting ready, the ceremony, photos at a nearby venue after the church, some informal shot of the guests mingling etc, the speeches, the cake cutting, formal family shots, and lots and lots of me and my husband together in a fashion magazine style. We had hundreds to choose from! We have just got our album, which was really fast, everyone else I know waited up to a year or longer for their albums. Yvonne has gone out of her way to send us samples etc to Italy. We will have her to take the first official photos of our baby, which is due in September this year. We’d definitely recommend Yvonne if you want something personalized and if photography is going to be an important feature of your big day.

We were looking for a photographer to photograph our wedding day and wanted them to capture the whole day from the preparation in the morning right through to the first dance. We had met with a few photographers but hadn’t really seen anything that made them stand out from the rest or felt a rapport with any of them. When we found Yvonne we knew immediately that her style of informal wedding photography was what we were looking for and she made us feel at ease straight away. We wanted photos of the day that weren’t overly posed and traditional – we wanted an album that told us the story of our day. We booked Yvonne to take our wedding photos. We had the difficult problem of not wanting to have the traditional high street photographer and thinking we couldn’t afford something more modern or reportage style – I hate having my photo taken and was nervous about having to stand for lots of staged photos. I couldn’t believe my luck when I found Yvonne’s site. She came from Nottingham to Peterborough to shoot our wedding. We had a pre wedding portrait where Yvonne came to our home and took some lovely shots and this was included in our package. She took time to get to know us and our preferences and she didn’t come across as insincere like a lot of people in the wedding business do. On the day she took some gorgeous photos, and we had so much fun doing some very “different” photos with our guests later in the evening. Most of the time we didn’t notice her there doing her thing but the guests who spoke to her said how friendly she was. Yvonne put our shots online for us so we were able to view a taster whilst we were on honeymoon and we put a link on our Facebook page. Everyone who has seen our photos has said that it looked like a really fun day and a big part of that was down to Yvonne.
