Engagement Shoot Nottingham

Nicola and Pete’s pre-wedding portraits at Wollaton Hall

Nicola and Pete booked over a year before their wedding day so although we’d been in contact it seemed like ages since I’d first met them. We met when the sun was almost down at Wollaton hall in Nottingham for their engagement shoot, sometimes called pre-wedding photography, a couple of months before their wedding.

Pre-wedding photography is a brilliant way to spend time together before the big day. Not only to find out about timings and plans for the day but to get to know each other better so that you feel so much more comfortable in front of the camera on your wedding day. I offer engagement shoots free to all those who book me for their wedding day. It’s such a valuable part of the wedding photography process and something I won’t do without. Most people tell me they dislike the thought of being in front of the camera. The pre-wedding portrait session helps you overcome this. It’s important to do because the day of your wedding isn’t the day to learn how to comfortable in front of the camera.

Nicola and Pete were rather inhibited about being photographed but like almost all of my couples fell into the whole thing quite naturally. I love the quietness in their portraits. The cheeky glances they gave each other when they felt awkward and the latter portraits where it becomes apparent they’re comfortable with me and my camera.

Nicola emailed me the day after their shoot to say how much they’d enjoyed it and how they couldn’t wait to be photographed on their wedding day.PINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPIN
