Wedding Silverholme Bowness on Windermere
A Lake District Wedding

I’ve wanted to photograph a wedding in The Lake District for a long time. It’s my favourite place in the world. Mike and I holiday in Keswick twice a year and have done for years because we’ve been to so many other places in the past that just can’t compare. I was so excited when Hannah and Sam booked me to photograph their wedding at Silverholme Manor on the Graythwaite Estate Bowness on Windermere. They are just the most delightful couple. They are funny and warm and absolutely adore their children. Remember their pre-wedding shoot? It turned in to a little family shoot instead. Their wedding day was all about having fun with their wonderful families and friends and their two boys Bertie and Fred.
It had been sunny all week leading up to their wedding, the first real hint of summer 2017 but in true Lake District style come their wedding day the weather was biblical. When we left the pretty little church in Far Sawrey the sky was black and the rain was bouncing off the church path. I was using camera settings reserved for the winter solstice! But what are The Lakes without rain? It made for more atmospheric photography, and fun dashing in and out of cover to avoid the downpour. Here are highlights from Hannah & Sam’s Lake District Wedding Photography at the end of May.
